Logo redesign and creation of a new typography for Stradivarius, part of the Inditex group. We have taken the previous brand image to create the new one, a more refined image in its lines that provides a contemporary look to Stradivarius. We have created a typeface beside Extratype that maintains and respects the original values of the brand. The Stradivarius typeface is made up of two families (Stradivarius Serif & Stradivarius Sans) and the combination of both of them in different mediums allows us to create a visually versatile communication.
For the creation of the logo, we have used the upper case of the Stradivarius Serif typeface, modifying its shapes and compensating its weights in order to provide more legibility, stability and solidity. In this way, we maintain the essence that the brand stands for but in a fresh and contemporary way. The treble clef symbol is an element that has been part of Stradivarius from its beginnings and with which the brand has always been identified; that’s why it is still its main element but it has been modified in order to make it cleaner and readable. On one hand, we have eliminated the overlapping of the treble clef with the letter ’S’, moving it to the left. On the other hand, we have simplified the calligraphic features of the previous symbol, making the isotype more solid, clean and visual, which works both with the wordmark and independently. With all this, we extrapolate the essence of the logo to the rest of the pieces in the communication of Stradivarius, creating unity, coherence and balance in the visual identity.
